GRAPEVINE (CBS 11 NEWS) - They say whatever your age or athletic ability, everyone can play golf, and an Iraq War veteran is proving that anyone includes those bound to a wheelchair.

At Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, Steve Blackman unveiled a set of clubs designed for disabled golfers.

Blackman says he is used to pushing through pain, after suffering 33 concussions during his military career.  He now gets around in a wheelchair.

Blackman says he was introduced to golf just one year ago and “got hooked” on golf after a few lessons from golf instructor, David Hillary.

“I watched Steve’s passion for golf really take off from there,” says Hillary.

But Blackman wanted to give disabled golfers, like himself, a break from the extravagant, expensive equipment he’d seen other disabled golfers use.
