Who Rock Now!!!

Yellow Fox Quarterly

*Please note that “we” here is actually just S.K. As you may have put together through her tone and voice and all the poetry that gets posted, Sara’s doing the bulk of the posting here, so really, she– somehow unable to drop the third person– is the one celebrating Abramović, and actually can’t speak for A.M. on this front. Anyway, with that cleared up, onward to some light gushing.

That video of Marina Abramović’s unplanned meeting with Ulay at her 2010 MoMA retrospective has made me cry on more than two occassions. Similarly, I was quite excited to see this Vine-video (I don’t “vine” or whatever the verbage is) of Jay-Z and Marina Abramović at the Pace Gallery.

If you have no idea who this Abramović character is, start with her Wikipedia page. Then read about the MoMA exhibit referenced in the title of this post. Okay, then watch…

Dang! It seems that our girl Natalia Kills is working extra hard this year because she just released another music video off her album Trouble. Did I mentioned that its not even out yet? Despite the sad depictions of Kills up bringing, “Saturday Night” is the epitome of a summer song.  It sounds upbeat, has a good hook, and best of all shows off Kill’s vocals! Hopefully the album comes out soon because I just can’t wait!!!

NO WONDER SOCIETY! I don’t have no kids, but if I ever do, they sure as hell aren’t drinking this junk when they can’t walk. Once a kid can walk, they can do whatever they want. That’s when the raising is over.

ON CLEANING UP THE WRITING SHOP

I was cleaning up shop from the writing madness that’s been going on for more time than I’ll talk about, but so for some reason I was born an idiot and held the pledge the wrong way and sprayed my eyes. I was screaming and now you can only…

These are a lot of fun. As part of the Public Art Horsens event in Denmark at the end of last month, American artist Brad Downey created several clever and witty urban interventions. Downey specializes in the element of surprise, making the viewer do a double-take by disrupting their visual perception. You can see the other four works here. The Horsens event was co-curated by Henrik Haven and Simon Caspersen and included other public works by the likes of Escif (Spain), Sam3 (Spain), Pøbel (Norway), Thomas Dambo (Denmark), and more.
