Sometimes I wonder how the hell people construct their novels. I don’t know how I’m doing one I’m working on right now. I wrote my first novel (which I may never put out because I’m not sure I believe in it yet—yea, the one I was talking about for a while, I know) in a few years, essentially, and I did an outline when I finally wrote the draft itself in less than a month for Na-no-wri-mo (National Novel Writing Month). I don’t know if that outline really helped. The novel I’m currently working on is being put together slowly, and I think it’s going to be long. I also wrote a short story like that—where it was separate stories or sketches, existing alone, and then I decided to smash things together because they made sense together, and ideas just came together that way.
